Storms

I have been intrigued by the occurrence of a second storm within a month to hit land with such severity and have been monitoring it to the best of my abilities. As expected the wind speeds have dropped to 135 MPH as the storm is approaching shallow waters and hopefully by the time it strikes land, it shall most probably be a category 3 storm, with sustained wind speeds not exceeding 130 MPH. I would also like to mention that it is highly possible that the storm won't hit Galveston and shall be approaching the west of Texas & Louisiana border. This ensures that Galveston shall be on the left side of the storm, ensuring that it shall have to confront the trailing edge of the storm with lower wind speeds and rain. But now the pressing and substantial concern shall be the fact that most of the towns in its wake are inundated with chemical factories and oil rigs that might pose a contamination threat and loss of oil production.

Some satellite images and other pictures are available at my photoblog.

Comments:
The names of these storms which hit the lands are incidently always the names of Women. :D

I guess they finally understood what the root cause of all the misery in the world is. Thanks for the enlightenment though!! ;)

On the other hand, it creates so much confusion. The other day, an old mate was inquiring about RITA, and I said:
Waise Rita is so cute, but when did you meet her??!
*after a split second*
ooh you meant hurricane Rita , ooh yeah, it was terrible, but I was far away from it on the west coast in the middle of a desert.

But seriously, the weather is so unfair. It keeps me away from the likes of Katrina and Rita. They are, ahem, so adorable, beautiful, cute, daring, energetic, fast, gorgeous, hot... hufff... pretty... (I can keep going) & trendy.

But shayad khuda ko kuch aur hi manzoor tha...
or as they say,
Har Kisi ko mukammal jahan nahin milta
Kahin zameen to kahin aasman nahin milta
:D
