India

"Knowledge is inherent in man; no knowledge comes from outside; it is all inside. We say Newton discovered gravitation. Was it sitting anywhere waiting for him? It was in his own mind; the time came and he found it out. All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind. The external world is simply the suggestion, the occasion, which sets you to study your own mind." - Swami Vivekananda.

The point here is what we today term as a "modern classic" (Matrix) was crystal-clear to Swami Vivekananda even then! And, thus, maybe the great forgotten thinkers of ancient India... Hence don't you feel that we need to research our own history & literature. We have a huge cultural resource, but do we really use it?!

yes, indeed. We need to understand what is at stake and wake up to the fact that we are short on lifeboats, that the hull is breached, the captain has ignored the warnings, the builders have messed up the design, and the binoculars were missing. Vivekananda said something similar I think about100 years back "Awake, Arise ... "

It isn't enough to be on the right track; you're liable to get run over if you just stay there.
